VIRTUAL SCREENING OF ALTERNATIVE SUBSTANCES
Responding to market needs and client inquiries, QSAR Lab now offers a new service – virtual screening of alternative substances.
This service is aimed at companies looking for replacements to currently used chemicals, companies which have difficulties with the availability of raw materials, or which are preparing alternative recipes for their base products.
The need for a replacement substance may be due to economic or logistical reasons,as well as the issue of chemical safety.
Based on the structure of the substance, the QSAR Lab research team will conduct a detailed chemoinformatic analysis and identify alternative substances with appropriate toxicological, ecotoxicological and physicochemical parameters.
The virtual screening service covers three stages:
- Identification of the substance for which substitutes are needed, determining its chemical structure and its functions, and indication of key physico-chemical, toxicological and ecotoxicological parameters.
- A search of available databases of registered chemicals for an alternative chemical substance. With the use of modern chemoinformatic algorithms and tools, the process of searching for candidates is both faster and more effective.
- A report including a list of possible alternative substances for further evaluation against economic criteria.
